LOL. Lando! Lando is one of my favorite pope names. I was skimming the pope list on wikipedia looking for names, and I came across Lando and laughed and laughed and laughed, and I sent it to Janine and she laughed and laughed as well. You could even say we found it... Hilarius. So I followed Lando's link to find out about his name. Apparently he was one of very, very few popes not to change his name, and he was the last pope to use a name not used by previous popes until John Paul I. That didn't tell me too much. Then I thought maybe it was short for Orlando, which would make it a form of Roland. It began to make more sense to me.Still! It cracks me up. I am inclined to think that his parents were skimming the list of pope names for potential baby names, came across Lando, and died laughing. "Oh my god we are soooooo naming our son that!" ...Probably not, actually. But I can see that happening. Especially since so little was known about Pope Lando that he wouldn't make the most exciting namesake.I think Lando has a neat and entirely silly sound. I like Orlando too.Goshen is more puzzling, but the wikipedia article says it's a biblical place. Maybe it's a very religious family. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_of_Goshen
