[Opinions] Re: Survey

1. If you love a name that is popular (like top 30 or so) would you still use it?
C. Maybe as a middle name (but replace "maybe" with "definitely")
2. Just answer these with a number(s) or does not matter
If a name is one syllable like Anne, Jane, Rose...recommend a middle name THREE OR FOUR syllables
If the first name is two syllables THREE syllables for middle name
If the first name is three syllables ONE OR TWO syllables for mn
If the fn is four syllables ONE, MAYBE TWO syllables for mn
3. Do you like these names on a girl, boy, or none?
A. Jordan - Neither really
B. Jamie - Prefer it on a boy, as a nickname for James
C. Alexis - Neither
D. Madison - Neither
4. Name a name for each generation or decade that is distictivly for that only when you see it.
I'm not sure if I'm doing this properly...
2000s - Madison / Aidan
1990s - Taylor, Mackenzie / Tyler
1980s - Jennifer, Jessica, Amanda, Ashley / not sure (Michael, Matthew, Daniel, but I don't think these are distinctively '80s)
1970s - Kimberly / same as 1980s
I'm having a tough time beyond this, maybe because it's beyond my time or maybe because names didn't seem as "distinctively 19--s" until recently.
5. Would you ever name a child a name that is distictivily out of place with the time. An "old fashioned" name like Florence on a 2008 baby? Hmm, I'm not sure everyone's perception of distinctively out of place with the time is the same, but personally I would say Agatha, for example, is probably "old fashioned" (and not in a Lily-Ava-Emily way) and I would for sure use it.
