1. If you love a name that is popular (like top 30 or so) would you still use it?
A. Yes
B. Yes but I would put a more unusual middle name
C. Maybe as a middle name
D. I would try to fine a more unusual form of it and use that
E. Not at all, too overused
It depends on the name and the association I have with it. I would use Joshua because it has great associations to me, but Josh doesn't. Olivia brings to mind spoiled yuppie brats, so it's totally out for me. I think it's more about associations with me than popularity.
2. Just answer these with a number(s) or does not matter
If a name is one syllable like Anne, Jane, Rose...recommend a middle name ___3__ syllables -
If the first name is two syllables ___4__ syllables for middle name
If the first name is three syllables __1____ syllables for mn
If the fn is four syllables ___1_____ syllables for mn
3. Do you like these names on a girl, boy, or none?
A. Jordan - Either.
B. Jamie - Boy
C. Alexis - None
D. Madison - None
4. Name a name for each generation or decade that is distinctively for that only when you see it. - I have no idea what this question means
5. Would you ever name a child a name that is distinctively out of place with the time. An "old fashioned" name like Florence on a 2008 baby?
In modern times it doesn't matter. At my niece's school there are Adelaides, Maudes, Alyoshas, Madisons, Samanthas, Jessicas, Honestys - I can't see any name being totally out of place. I will chose a name that fits my child, period. That said there are no 100% old-fashioned names out there that I can really see myself using. :-D
