Elmire is the French form of Elmira. I'm not sure why there would be a "uh" sound in the end, but in French it is el-meer.

Maybe there shouldn't be a uh-sound at the end after all. Since it has a French origin it makes sense (Elmire with an uh-sound at the end would be the Swedish pronunciation).
