It's a super-duper diminutive and it's really, really, really cutesy. Mikhail is to Misha is to Mishka as Michael is to Mike is to Mikey-Boy.

I have to say I like Sacha (prefer Sasha) more than Mishka. Mishka sounds like a misspronunciation of Misha (which I also like). Mishka Nikolai is the best combo.

I've never heard of the name.
All I can say is that my sister often says exactly the same ("mishka") when she's done something stupid like spilling water.
So, to me it's more a word than a name.

I don't like Sacha at all. Sascha is better, looks more Russian.
