[Opinions] Irissa
I personally think that Irissa (eye-RISS-a) is a beautiful name. I've seen it with the spelling Irisa but to me, that looks like it would be easier for people to mispronounce. Some people might say eye-REES-a instead of eye-RISS-a (or maybe not). WDYT of this name? Do you prefer Irissa or Irisa? I think it's a nice alternative to Iris, which is also a nice name. Irisa / Irissa sounds prettier to me though.

Actually, when I first saw it, I thought "ear-iss-ah" not "eye". I love Iris, personally. Going to Irissa just leads me to believe that American society today thinks all girls' names end in 'a' and all boys' names end in 'n'. Sorry."To love another person is to see the face of God." ~Victor Hugo

I think Irissa is a good uncommon name. Did you discover this in Carole Nelson Douglas's fantasy novels, where Irissa is the heroine? I would definitely agree that if you want this name to rhyme with Melissa, you should spell it with two s's. Most people would want to rhyme Irisa with Lisa when they first looked at it.

I didn't know that Irissa was a character from a book. I saw the name Irisa in a name book a while back, but I thought that the spelling Irissa would seem less confusing.

I can't think of any -issa names I like, this one included. I do like Iris, though.

I love Iris, so Irisa and Irissa are both pretty to my eye as well. But they look made-up to me, unfortunately, so that turns me off to them. :( BTW, I like Irissa better than Irisa, just because I'd tend to pronounce the former with a short "i" in the middle, and I prefer that to eye-REES-a.

Irissa is ok, but it's a bit fussy for me. I prefer Iris.
