I love Francis but I'm kind of divided on it. I very much enjoy the name for the name's sake and it's easy to make a nice combo with it as a middle name, but I can't envision myself comfortably calling someone by the first name Francis. So there's the dilemma: I think it makes a good name, but maybe not a real person's name.

I've never been a big fan of Xavier. X names always tend to feel a bit forced to me; the few that there are I associate with goth-type adolescent fandom. :-/ I like Francis Peter, though. It's very together.

It's on my on-again off-again list as a middle name. Francis has a number of sentimental connections to my family so it feels very 'fitting' with a handful of other family-type names that I also like. I usually work it into a combo as:
