I don't like the sound much, and I think it might get mistaken for the boy's name Miles.

Mies is okay as a nickname for a girl, like Michelle, but not a real name.

Also, it looks like it's pronounced MY-se so there might be some mispronunciation there.

Mies is a nn for Maria or Marie..
you could also use Miranda or Marcia or something?
