DW: Laurel Kathleen MacNamara (age 22, grad student, English)
Laurel and Tom Cowry met as undergrads, when she was a freshman and he a junior. They started dating about six months after making each others' acquaintance through a mutual friend. They were together until Laurel was a senior and Tom was beginning his second year of graduate school, and then one mild summer evening, Tom took Laurel out to the lakeshore to look at the stars and asked her to marry him. Now, one year later, with Laurel finishing her first year of graduate studies and Tom finishing his third, they've tied the knot! Both were very pleased. Due to the fact that they're both students yet, their honeymoon was only a weekend hotel stay in Chicago, where they live. It wasn't very grand, but being together made it a weekend to remember forever.
