Help[Opinions] Iliya
I was at a prof's house today, and her son's name was Iliya. I think I fell in love, but I'm not sure... thoughts?

She's a single mom, and when she introduced her son to us (he's about 11), I gushed over his name-- it's listed as Russian and Bulgarian in BTN, and she's Ukranian, so it works well-- it's absoloutly phenomenal with their last name.

It's quite charming. Not a name I would use myself, but I would smile everytime I heard it.

Reminds me of Iliya Kulik,the Russian figure skater. I thought he was dreamy back in the day! I like the name, however, I feel like it would be interpreted as a feminine name in the US, based on spelling and sound, which is a shame. I like the sound a lot.
