I just finished a book where the girl in the story had named her cat Gesader (which the author said was the Gaelic word for Enchanter). How do you pronounce it? Is it with a hard "G" as in "
Gabrielle
" or is it softer like in "
Gina
"?

I would say it is most likely a hard G, something like "Geh-sa-dur."

Ge-sa-der, I think. Emphasis on the first syllable.
