Sylvia used to be on of my favorite names, but I've lost my former love of it. My mother really likes this name and keeps suggesting it; but I keep thinking it's an old lady name, not a baby name.
I don't care for Sylvie, but if you like it, I think it should be a nn, not the full name, that way the child has the option of using the full Sylvia.
