[Opinions] Gaelan?
Would it be cruel?
I had a looky here:

the two people names Gaelan seem to rate their name very highly, which makes me think it isn't so bad.

I love Galen (male)
I really don't see how anyone could like this name. but the Galen I know doesn't get teased, so I don't think it would be cruel, based off of my anecdotal experience.
much prefer Galen
me three
Same here
This spelling looks very odd, probably because my mind expects Gael- to be the word Gaelic, so by the time I get to the 'an', I'm all confused. Galen looks so much neater and nicer. I think it's a nice name.
My mom has a friend named Gaelan and he loves his name. I really like it. I'm slightly hesitant to use it, but I do really like it.
I think there's a definite likelihood of teasing, and I don't care for the name besides. I think it fits into the -en trend so smoothly that it will be easily dated. Sorry!
I wouldn't do it just because of the "gay" teasing possibilities, but I do know of a famous Galen (this spelling) in the running world. He's one of the best college runners in the country and I believe goes to Oregon. He'd be the first assosiation that I'd make rather than gay, so I guess it would be ok.
I prefer it spelled Galen, and I don't think it's an awful name at all.
I think people would probably pronounce it wrong, though.
I think more people would pronounce Gaelan wrong, depending on the area. I think it's more depending on regional style of speaking.
I knew a Gaelan in college and have a very bad association with the name; but then again, maybe the chip on his shoulder was a result of growing up with that name. I think a Gaelan would receive a lot of teasing since the redefining of the word "gay".
