I much prefer Gail as a mn, just because I find it awkward to pair while in the fn position. I'm also partial to the spelling Gayle, but that's just because it's my middle name (well, also because I know a male Gail and so Gayle has always just "felt" more feminine to me)
For example,
Charlotte Gail
Matilda Gail
Felicity Gail
All sound better (imo) than their reverses.
I do like Gail Violet, though :)
