WDYT of Sigmund?
Is it too attached to Freud? I don't think Freud's really a bad association, but I wouldn't want my kid associated too much with Oedipus Syndrome :P
Anywho, if you were to dismiss that association, do you like the name itself?
Would you still use it even with that association?
Any alternatives?

It is attached to Freud, but I love it. It is one of my favorite German names. I wouldn't use it because of Freud and because of the nicknames.

IMO, it's way too much Freud.
Aside from that, I think it's too "heavy"-sounding... if that makes sense. It just seems to carry a lot of weight (not in the good sense, necessarily); though I think this may be a trait common to Germanic names, and may well be the reason that very few of them are to my liking.

I think this is a pretty cool name. Obviously Freud comes to mind but I agree with you-its not a bad association. I think it sounds very intellectual and interesting as a first name
