[Opinions] WDYTO Nguyen?
I quite like it, but don't really think it's useable:0)

It reminds me of Dat Nguyen, an [American] football player (NFL). I've always heard it pronounced like "win" with an "n" sound on the front... if that makes sense -- "nwin".It's interesting, but too strange and surname-y for me to use.

A girl in my history class was named this, as far as I'm concerned it was pron. noo-gee-EN.
I agree with it beeing very hard to figure the pron. out, but if there is a background I think it's nice. It looks quite nice and the pron. isn't to bad either.

I know heaps of people with Nguyen (pronounced something like NYOO-wen) as their surname - it's very common here because we have a lot of people here of Vietnamese origin. I've seen it as a first name on boys as well. It's fine on a Vietnamese person but I would find it a bit strange on anyone else, simply because I've never seen it used outside a Vietnamese context.

I know two or three girls who are surnamed this, and I still have no idea how to pronounce it. So just seeing it frustrates me, LOL.
