I find Tessy Samantha very hard to say without spitting. Maybe something less Ss-sy in the middle. I really like Dot's suggestions: Tessy Florence, Tessy Margaret & Tessy Josephine.
Creepy assocation:
My Great Auntie May had her sister in law living with her when I was a small girl; Tessie. Creepy old lady, always bedridden, had that low, gravelly voice that you hear in horror flicks. She scared the bejeezus out of me before I turned 5. Not a pleasant assocation for me, so Tessie/Tessy is right out.
I do think it would be a cute nickname for a tiny Theresa/Therese/Teresa. And Tess works beautifully on an adult too. Theresa Florence, Theresa Margaret, Theresa Josephine would thrill me to no end! :D
