Cyrus and I welcomed home our first child, Wyatt Mackenzie, a two months ago. Ever since first getting together we have hoped to have a large family. We went through an organization who specialized in open adoptions. We met Wyatt's birthmother Jemma when she was three months along- she was only 17 and knew she could not raise her child. Through the next six months, we were able to go to doctor appointments with her, discus names with her- she was the one who finally decided on the name (As Cyrus and I could not narrow down our list of three favorite combos!), and get ready for our baby! Cyrus' favorite thing to do was to decorate the nursery- he love's doing that (and I'm happy to sit back and smile at him doing so). Finally the day came and we attended the birth. He was heathy, adorable, and loud!
We brought him home three days later. Since then, we have adjusted to our patterns of feeding, changing, napping, and everything else that becomes ritual with a new baby in the house! Wyatt is a great baby- besides him not wanting to sleep longer than an hour at a time. He has even begun to smile (and Cyrus swears he hear Wyatt laugh)! Jemma has stayed a part of our new family. She has come over a few times and we make sure to take photos to email to her as well!

Well, all of mine are adoption, so if just given as above it will be a newborn, if other then yup!
