[Opinions] Rosie
I'm really liking Rosie at the moment, though I wouldn't use at as a full name. I really like the Rosie the Riveter connection (that's what reminded me). So I guess my questions are:
1. WDYT of Rosie (as a nickname)? What sort of personality would you imagine on a Rosie?
2. What full name would you pair it to?
3. Middle name suggestions?Thanks!

Rosie is cute as a nickname, but I have to say, it was one of my top choices for my dog's name (we chose Gracie). That being said, it's hard to put it on a human now.I would stick it with Rose, Rosemary, Rosalind, or Roseanna. My favorite of those is Rosalind.Rose Cathryn
Rose Isolde
Rose Viviana
Rose Cecilia
Rose Adela

Rosalind Perdita (if you really want to get Shakespearean...)
Rosalind Carys
Rosalind Elise
Rosalind Alice

Rosemary Hope
Rosemary Sylvia
Rosemary Anne

1. I quite like Rosie as a nn, but not as much as I love (2) Rosetta on its own.
3. I'm not sure whether you want mn suggestions for Rosie or for Rosetta. I'm going to do Rosetta:
Rosetta Georgiana
Rosetta Harriet
Rosetta Temperance
Rosetta Bellatrix
Rosetta Niamh
Rosetta Sinead
Rosetta Tamsin
Rosetta Violet

I'm also really loving it lately! I would go with Rosabel Charlotte. It's my current favorite combo, and Rosie seems like such a charming NN! Rosabel is an honoring name for me, but I fell in love with it when I first heard of it. Rosie as a NN just sealed the deal. =] Other ideas:Rose
Rosa
Rosalie
Rosemary
Rosanne / Roseanne
Rosana / Rosanna / Roseanna
Rosamund / Rosamunde
Rosabel / Rosabelle
Rosabella
Rosario
Primrose

- I love the name Rosie! I actually like it as a full name or a nn for a longer name. I think Rosie would be out-going, sweet and friendly.2. What full name would you pair it to?
- I'd either use Rose nn Rosie, Rosemary nn Rosie or Rosalie nn Rosie.3. Middle name suggestions?
- Depends which longer fn you used.

I love the name Rosie. I know a Rosemary nn Rosie, unfortunately she has a drug/alcohol problem, but never the less, it hasn't tainted the name for me, and she is a very sweet person, if not one who can't cope with the realities of the world.
I really like Rosalie as a full name or Primrose (my favourite name at the moment).
Josephine would be my middle name suggestion. I just love it.

Josephine's great as a middle name for all the Rose- names. It's also one of my favorite first names.

I love Rosie, very spunky. Rosie the Riveter is a great inspiration. :-)I would use Rose, Rosa or Rosamund. Rose because it is so simple and elegant. It's nice to see a "filler" mn get top billing for a change and you can really go all out on a mn. Rosa because it's simple and overlooked. Rosamund because it's so grand sounding and transports me back in time to the court of Henry II of England and his mistress Rosamund Clifford. Fun. Rose Elizabeth (an oldie but a goodie)
Rose Elena
Rose Aurelia
Rose Dominique
Rose Evangeline
Rose Angelica
Rose Madeleine / Magdalena
Rose Antoinette
Rose Anastasia
Rose Mairead ("muh-RAYD")
Rose Eilidh ("EYE-lee")
Rose Isibeal ("ISH-bayl")
Rose Angharad ("ahng-HAR-ud")
Rose Amalia
Rose WilhelminaRosa Caroline
Rosa Vivien

I have a close friend named Rosie. Her full name is Raisa, which is Yiddish for rose. I think it's a brilliant idea to give the nn Rosie to a name that means rose in another language, whatever language you pick. Her name is Raisa Rachel, if that helps. Sometimes I think alliterition is good, and it seems to work with the letter R.

How do you pronounce Raisa?

Yep, it's rye-EE-suh.

I saw that, but it's the Greek pronunciationAnd I was curious about the Yiddish pronunciation.

Yiddish pronounciationMy grandmother's Yiddish name was Raisa Baila, pronounced RAY-zah BAY-lah. It worked well, IMO. I would definitely consider it when I start having kids!
