Help[Opinions] Lillian Vs. Autumn
Which name do you think is better, and why? I think Lillian is a nice full name for Lily, but Autumn is pretty as well. Autumn has no nn, which is a major drawback for me.

A few months ago I would have said "Lillian" immediately and said Autumn is nmsaa. But lately Autumn has kind of been growing on me. I still like Lillian more, but Autumn definitely has its charm. How about Lillian Autumn?

Autumn is so beautiful, I'd pick it in a heartbeat. I love the nn Lil for Lillian, but Lillian as a whole doesn't appeal to me as much as Autumn does.

I like them both. Lillian/Lily is a bit more trendy than Autumn, but its still a beautiful name.

I like both names, but I actually prefer just Lily to Lillian. I think my opinion would change on a daily basis as to which one I'd use, but today I'd go with Autumn. Autumn is also my fave season, so that's a big draw card for me.

Definitely Lillian
I think Lillian is such a classy, feminine name that has a lovely sound to it. The NN Lilly (I'm prefering this spelling, at the moment) is sweet.
Autumn is dnsmaa. It just sounds so harsh imo - I don't find it appealing at all.

Why does a name need a nn? And what is so wrong with Lily that it has to be Lillian?
Anyway, I like the way Autumn looks. I just love names with au in them. But it is a bit funny phonetically.
Lillian looks kind of funny, but sounds really nice.
So I think...idk...Lillian. Yes, Lillian is much better. I can't imagine saying Autumn without screwing my nose up.

I strongly prefer Lillian. It's a beautiful name, more versatile, ages better...

Autumn, while pretty in theory, is a silly name. It doesn't age at all well and it's rather trashy and fluffy.

Lillian is one of those old fashioned names that usually gets me revved up. My only sticking point with the name is the nn Lily.

I prefer Lillian. I know a couple of Autumns and I don't actually know any Lillians. It's a bit of stretch, but if you absolutely need a nn for Autumn you could maybe get away with Ann. There are always nicknames that don't come from the name too. My dad calls me Mo because my hair stood up like a mohawk when I was a baby.

They both have their merits. Lillian is a classic and probably would age better than Autumn, and it does have some nns to choose from. But Autumn is more up-to-date, and is currently popular, it's not wildly so, as Lillian is.
I guess I'd go for Lillian.

I do agree that Lilian is better from the nickname concept, what with Lill and Lily. But I prefer Autumn simply because there's a way to work some word names, and Autumn can be "worked" very well, IMO. It's a word name, but it's not made up and everybody knows it's a real name. Yet it remains stunningly unique. I've never met an Autumn in my life. It's one of those names that I think is best used in minimum. Not because it's bad, but just because it's so exciting to hear it being used.

Normally I wouldn't say Autumn, I find it a little hippy-ish. There is an attraction to it, however, and I prefer it to Lillian.

I find Lillian a bit boring and plain. I think Liliana sounds and looks much prettier. Autumn is great too...

I like Lillian better than Autumn, but not for the obvious reason. It's just that, talkin seasons, I like Summer better, and I actually like Summer more than Lillian.
Why not split the difference? What about Lillian Autumn nn Lily?

I prefer Lillian, but have no particular love for the nn Lily, which is why Lillian would probably be a mn for me if I used it.
Autumn doesn't have that pleasant of a sound for me. I used to like it though. Again, only as a middle name (I rarely want to put word names in the FN spot, it sounds odd to me, like you're describing something).
However, I don't like many nicknames, so the no nicknames for Autumn is a plus in my book.
