What do you think of the name? I've gone through a phase where I've liked it, not so much, then started liking it again. I've seen it spelled various ways, i.e. Zoe, Zoey, Zooey, Zoie, Zoi, but which way do you like best? Any middle name suggestions to go along with it?

I only like Zoe and Zoi (as transliterations from Greek), but I prefer Zoe of the two. I love the name and the meaning.

I love the name, but only with the spelling Zoe. I actually have a cousin called Zoe and her mn is Rebecca. Zoe Rebecca sounds lovely to me. I also like Zoe Katherine, Zoe Jemima, Zoe Pearl, Zoe Clara, Zoe Abigail, Zoe Hannah, Zoe Violet, Zoe Della, Zoe Megan, Zoe Miriam, Zoe Matilda, Zoe Hazel, Zoe Emma, Zoe Freya & Zoe Belle. There are plenty of names that work with Zoe.

I like it more and more lately. I have dismissed it as "rather tacky" and gimmicky since I became a namenerd, but now I am really liking it again. It is bright and pretty and fun. I also like the Russian version Zoya.
Zoe Penelope is a very bright and fun little bug.

Zoe (or Zoë) is the only legitimate spelling in my mind.
Zooey is just silly imo. I want to pronounce it ZOO-ee, as in 'like a zoo'.

My mother's name was Zoe. She was given the name at her birth in 1928, when it was highly highly unusual. She despised it, and always made a big deal about how horrible it was.
Perhaps influenced by her opinion, I too always thought of it as a very unattractive name.
Nevertheless, I gave it to my daughter as a middle name to honor my mother.
Eventually, it began to grow on me, and now I like it, although I don't love it.
I only like the spelling Zoe. My mom's middle name was Camille, so she was Zoe Camille.
Perhaps influenced by her opinion, I too always thought of it as a very unattractive name.
Nevertheless, I gave it to my daughter as a middle name to honor my mother.
Eventually, it began to grow on me, and now I like it, although I don't love it.

I quite like the name, mainly because of a friend in high school with the name. I like the spelling Zoe (with the double-dot umlaut thing that I can't find on my computer!) best. (Lol I once tried to use the umlaut on my own name to create Brook-ee - I didn't quite understand the concept of it then :-P). Zooey in particular annoys me. It looks like it describes a chaotic place, akin to a zoo (I think I've actually seen it used this way in books as well).

I was beginning to abandon Zoe because of the popularity here in the US, but as I realize that even the popular names are only popular in rank, but not so much in overall percentage of babies, I'm beginning to appreciate Zoe again. I may add it to my PNL. It was missing from my list before solely due to popularity. On a side note, the main reason I like Ione is because I perceive Ione as generating the same impression as Zoe, but has the advantage of being less popular.
But I only like it spelled Zoe or Zoë. On a child born in the US, I would spell it without the umlaut for practical reasons, but since Zoë is the original, authentic spelling, I can't knock it.
I absolutely abhore Zoey, Zowie, Xoe, Zoi or any other variant spelling. I just abhor variant spellings in general.
My daughter's cabbage patch kid came with a book about Zoey the Zebra so now when I see Zoey I also think of a cartoon character.
For middle names:
Zoe Delphine (not my idea actually, I saw it on another board, but I just think this is the perfect combo and inspired Ione Delphine for me)
Zoe Bernadette
Zoe Clarissa
Zoe Linette
And I actually think Zoe spruces up names that are popular among child bearing age women today, and would be a great way for Moms who want to use their name as a middle name, but are struggling to find a good first name:
Zoe Heather
Zoe Melissa
Zoe Michelle
Zoe Jessica
