Hi,
I was just wondering what you all thought of the name Carlotta?
Thanks very much,

My best friend's name!So of course I like it. She's always called that, too, no nick-names.

Love it! It's a recent addition to my top 10, but I've always liked it because of the charcter in the Enid Blyton St Clare's books. It's spunky, and (IMHO) a million times better than Charlotte (I don't dislike Charlotte, but I find it kind of boring).

I really adore it. Carla seems dated, Charlotte is getting overused, but Carlotta is really pretty and I never see it. Unfortunately I could never use it because of my surname.

I like it, its a name you hardly ever hear. It was the name of the dead woman in Vertigo- the old Hitchcock film, but its a classic and the name is very pretty

Carlotta is an underappreciated gem. It's one of those buried treasures waiting to be rediscovered; one of those names that people say, "Hey, yeah. That's a nice name. I wonder why it isn't more popular." I'd love to meet a baby Carlotta Inez, Carlotta Sophie, or a Carlotta Lucy one day. :-)

It sounds like an exotic beauty.

I really like it, and much prefer it to Charlotte, Charlotta, Carly etc

dittoI agree with the above. I find it "spunky" and not so boring as Charlotte.Although a friend recently told me that it's the nn for Carla in Spanish and means "big Carla". So if you live in a spanish speeking area there might be teasing potential if the child is obese... :-)I'd still use it any day

Carlotta is a very pretty, strong name, IMO. I like it a lot.

Ohh...Carlotta is the first name I ever loved, when I saw it in a name book at about age 9. I still like it now. In fact I think it's gorgeous, but I'm not sure how well it would work on a girl with no Italian in her, with a non Italian surname.

I've been on the fence about it for years. While I think it's an interesting name, I don't find it pretty. I still like it, though.

I like Carlotta, though I prefer Charlotta.

I like it and prefer it to the form Charlotte.

it's kind of neat, actuallyMuch more interesting than Carla or Carly. I don't see it as being the kind of name that just anybody could pull off though. It's kind of like Reba that way: only a certain kind of person seems to fit the name.

Reba.(m)I went to school with a girl named Reba, the only one I've known. She was *very* sexy, beautiful too. And you had to like her, she was fun.
