[Opinions] WDYT of Michaela? (m)
Now that there are so many Makayla's, Mckayla's, and other variants of the name around, I though I'd ask what you think of Michaela. Do you like the sound? Do you think it ages well? Thanks.~Sadie

Michaela is just gorgeous :)
By the way, I prefer the French pron (mee-kah-ella) or the Hebrew one (mee-khah-ella) :)

I used to love Michaela. Thank "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman" for that, LOL (although I hated her nn, Mike). But now with all the trendy, kre8tiv spellings, it's unfortunately been ruined for me. I think many people today would be hard pressed to guess her name was spelled Michaela after first guessing Mikayla, Makayla, McKayla, etc. :(

I liked the name years ago before it became so popular. I only knew one Mikayla then. So I like that spelling. I know, naughty me, a creative spelling. I do like Mikaela too. Michaela just makes me want to pronounce it as Michael-a just because I didn't recognise it and know how to pronounce it when I first saw it. I do prefer Michaela to Makayla and McKayla though.

I didn't use to like the name. A friend of mine had a baby in 2001 and named her Makayla Reese. Apparently she always loved that name combo and was always going to call her daughter that. I can't believe I didn't mind the spelling! :0 I just thought the baby was so cute though, so I guess that distracted me from the horrible spelling! hehe. I now really like the name Michaela. This spelling is the best for sure. I really like it now though, funny how you change your mind.

I really like the name Michaela although I personally prefer the sp. Mikalah. Michaela is also a nice spelling though; it's another one that I like.

I prefer McKayla for a girl.

I've always liked the name Michaela. But the explosion of misspellings has made me wish this name would go underground for a while. It's a shame, because Michaela is a nice name.

I think that Michaela is the only valid form of all the others, and I think it will age much better and much more gracefully. Although it is my niece's name, I still don't love it...but it has my respect.

I love the *traditional* spelling of the name so much! I think that Michaela ages very well, and I think that this particular spelling does so better than the variations.

I like Michaela, it think it is a classic name in the same style as Daniela or Gabriela (or Gabriella). The only spellings I like are Michaela and Mikaela (the Swedish spelling). I think Makayla, Mckayla etc look uneducated and tacky."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."
"It does not become me to make myself smaller than I am." (Edith Södergran 1891-1923)

Is it pronounced the same as Makayla (and variants) or is it "michael-uh"? I like the michael-uh pronunciation better, even if it's wrong (though I wouldn't use the name if it is).But I love the spelling, it's a million times better than Makayla etc. I think it ages fine.

I think it's very pretty, has a nice sound, and ages well.
I'm not fond of other spellings just Michaela - I suppose this stems from the name Michael being a family name.
I'd know a girl named Michael and would consider using it too. :)
