I came across this boys name when reading something about the Vikings. I'm not sure how it's pronounced. What's your opinion?

I would pronounce it EYE-ric. The 'eye' part strikes me as feminine (like Eira, Eirene, Eido..). I prefer Erik/Eric.

I'm pretty sure that at some point, way back when, this was on my PNL. It is just darn cool. IY-rik, is how I'd prn it, which is just plain old awesome. A lot of people may think it's just Eric, though.

One of my teacher's has a son named Eirik and I don't like it. I really prefer Erik. Eiric/Eirik just sounds silly to me..but it was pronounced "EY-rick"
