[Opinions] Keir
Middle name only. I have been led to believe it is related to Keiran/ Kieran, but that is probably incorrect. WDYT of it?Also, opinions on Conrad, Auberon, Inez and Greta/ Gretel.Thanks!ETA- Aled? I think the meaning is great :D

I love the name Keir. I much prefer it to Keiran. The only Aled I have known of is Aled Jones - singer of Walking In The Air and now a presenter of Songs Of Praise (religous tv programme).I dislike the other names especially Gretel which is relly ugly and harsh sounding to me.

I believe it to be a variant of the surname Kerr. However, I may be mistaken. It certainly seems like it could come from Keiran. Conrad - I adore this name. It is strong and masculine yet gentle and very civilised at the same time. Plus, it has the advantage of being unusual and quirky - really lovely.Auberon - a bit too pretentious IMO but it isn't terrible. There are far worse things you could name a child!Inez - it seems like a carricature to me, if that makes any sense. I just don't really take to it and I couldn't imagine it on a real person.Greta / Gretel - I much prefer Gretel. Probably because of the fairytale, it has a wonderful mystical feel and is really dreamy. I like it a lot whereas Greta seems old and dated to me. Aled - you're right, the meaning is really cool. Other than that though, I'm not too keen on it. The only Aleds I've ever been aware of are middle-aged or elderly.

Keir is a varient of Kerr which in the data base is derived rom a place name meaning wet rough ground, its okay but not really my style
Conrad I like but as a middle name only
Inez is nice but a bit short for me I tend to like longer names
Auberon - cant warm to this but dont know why
Greta / Gretel - I like as nn
Aled is okay but not my style

That is so oddI almost posted about this name, too. I really like Keir as a mn. I don't know anything about the name, though.
I also like Conrad quite a bit. It sounds very...stable?...to me. Strong isn't what I picture, and stable is the closest I can think of right now.
Auberon is ok.
I don't particularly like the sounds of the other names.
