It would be a great way to honor someone named Michelle and yet still be able to have the nn Nikki or Nicky!Kinda cute! :)

I think the "Nich" sound is unpleasant, and unfortunately a child named Nichelle would likely give the impression of coming from an uneducated family.

There's also an actress named Nichelle Nichols (she was on Star Trek). But that doesn't mean it's not a made-up name, i.e. not rooted in something other than a few people having that name. :b
