[Surname] The surname Rossillon...
I'm looking for information on my surname. I know my grandparents came from France, but I can't find any information about the surname, or history of the surname. On familysearch.org I've found a bit of information on people with that last name, originating in France, and then my ancestors that moved to Kansas, US. (My grandparents Leona and Victor are on there, but I don't know their parents names)Thanks!

I've no doubt that you're related to me, and according to my grandmother, daughter-in-law to Ernest Rossillon, and wife to Leonard Rossillon, the Rossillons were from St. Etienne in Savoie. My family has several histories of Olpe, KS, that talks about the enormously large Rossillon family.

Oh, hello! I didn't see your post! (I forgot to check this) I actually attended a family reunion in Olpe when I was a child. I believe my father might be one of your cousins or something, the name Andrea is familiar. His name is Larry. Feel free to email me at any time:

Oh, yeah, it's pronounced rose-zill-yun, but I've heard that it was originally pronounced rowss-see-yawn.
