[Opinions] Safia (ETA: Saffron and Seraphina)
I was wondering what y'all thought about Safia. Do you prefer the spelling Saphia? Like the nickname Saffy? Know somebody with this name? Feel it would be too close to Sophia? Feel that it would be a refreshing alternative to Sophia? Completely, totally and utterly loathe it? I've been pondering it a lot recently and playing about with it in my head. So, do you like it? Also, it would be fantastic if you could suggest some combos for me. Thank you very much guys!ETA: I just remembered to ask about Saffron. Do you prefer it? I've decided I love the nn Saffy. Also, my sister's first name is Sarah. Do you think Sera (as a nn for Seraphina) would be a good way to honour her?

I love the name Safiya, not so keen on the Safia spelling. As Array said, it seems to be pronounced differently. It took me a while to realise actually that Safia would be similar to Sophia because I was reading it with the stress on the first syllable, whearas with Safiya I'd put in on the second. The only combos I have are Safiya Yasmin or Safiya Zara.I'm no good at coming up with combos for other people because a combo just feels right to me for some reason otherwise I just list random names.I'm not keen on Saffy as a nn. Just makes me think of the AbFab character.I do like Saffron and Seraphina. Sera is ok and I guess it sounds like Sarah so you could use it to honour her especially if you think she'd like it. Am I right in thinking she goes by the name Liberty (or have I imagined that)? Seraphina Liberty has quite a ring to it imo.

I love Safiya and the nn Saffy is definitely cute. I also love Saphirra and Saffanah which you might also like. Saphia Margaux
Saphia Lenore

I love the spelling Safiya (Safiyyah, too, but I prefer Safiya), but Safia and Saphia don't look right to me. The latter, I want to pronounce SAFE-ee-ah or SAFF-ee-uh, whil the former...well, it just doesn't do it for me at all. I think that Safiya is really pretty, and Saffy is a cute nickname, though I prefer Fiya or Fiyo. Saffron is also really nice. And if you think Seraphina "Sera" is close enough for "Sarah," then it's close enough. We can't decide that for you.Safiya Giselle
