I have always liked the name Lance, but I have not met many other people that do. Is the name Lance really that bad? WDYT of Lance?

I don't care for it. I prefer Vance.

My ex-boss, was named Lance. He was quite nice, and because of him i've liked the name ever since. I also like Lancelot. So romantic!

Lance is my dogs name and otherwise I think of Lance Bass and NSync. I don't like it very much as it is something you would do to a boil, however there is Lance Armstrong which erases some of the weirdness for me.

Sounds violent as a name.

It's handsome, strong, and sweet. I'd love to meet a little Lance or an adult Lance. Just as long as it's a full name and not a NN for Lancelot; even though I love Lancelot it strikes me as too pompous for a real person and sounds tacky.

I like it - my favorite video game from when I was a kid had a character named Lance, and I've liked it ever since. Actually, a lot of names I like came from that game (William, Seth, Kara, Lilly, etc). I think it's the nostalgia factor.Plus I knew a kid named Lance and he was nice enough, so I have a good impression of it.

Was this videogame Pokemon by any chance? That game actually improved my opinion of this name a lot. He was a very noble, brave, powerful, and cool character lol.

No, it wasn't, but I know who you're talking about as I've played Pokemon too (love it, in fact!). It was an old game from - I believe - '94 called Illusion of Gaia.

I like it. When I was growing up, there was an older gentleman named Lance who went to our church, so it seems usual to me. Probably his name was really Lancelot.

never really cared for itIt's not horrible, but there is the concept of 'lancing" a boil. And it's quite dated: you'd expect Lance to have a girlfriend named Heather and a best male friend named Chad, and to go around ina Motley Crue T-shirt and talk like an eighties surfer dude.

I've never liked Lance as a name. It comes from Lancelot and sounds more like a soap opera hunk than a real person's name. It just feels vain somehow.

Agree.

I agree, and alsoIt's so violent. Lance is a really unpleasant word and I wouldn't want it associated with my child.

Yeah, that +It just makes me think of the word lance. The noun and the verb.
