What could be a nice nn for Alexandra. I don't really like Alex that much (I prefer Alex as a nn for Alexander) I though maybe Sandy because my mum's name is Sandra or maybe Ally, is there anything else you can think of?

The traditional Polish nickname is Ola(OH-lah). It's unusual in an English speaking country.

Sandy, Sandra, and Sandrine

...are the only reasons why I like Alex- names at all. Generally I'm a huge non-fan of them--something about the sound has never clicked with me--but I think Sandy, Sandra, and Sandrine are wonderful.

My mother (who is an Alexandra) goes by Alexandrini.
Other nn I like (in Greece) are: Aleka, Alexia

Ally and Sandy are both nice. I prefer Ally to Sandy though.
