Love it :)It's very pretty and brings to mind a capable young woman. I associate it with Lt. Natasha Yar on Star Trek: The Next Generation. I also love the nickname Tasha.

I grew up not liking my name, but now I have come to appreciate it and it is rather pretty to hear someone say it aloud (as long as they don't pronounce it naTAAAsha). Plus my grandmother picked it for me, so it's kind of special. Otherwise it would have been Veronica. No thanks! oh, and I do not agree that it is a trashy name.

First impression of Natasha: sexy Russian woman. That may be a stereotype, but I'm only being honest.

I've never really liked it. I don't know why but it makes me think of a witch. I have no idea why.

I first think of Natalie Wood (the little girl in the original "Miracle on 34th Street", Judy in "Rebel Without a Cause" and Maria in "West Side Story) one of my favorite actresses (I like watching classic movies). Her birth name was Natalia and her nickname Natasha. Natasha is also what she named her first daughter. To me the name Natasha is a nickname. A Russian nickname. For Natalia or Natalya. It is also usable on it's own as it doesn't sound nicknamey. I only really dislike it when people use Sasha as a nickname for Natasha. I mean come on the nickname of a nickname ? Plus isn't Sasha a nickname for Alexandra or Aleksandra ?The problem with Natasha is that it sounds trashy. Very trashy. And many strippers seem to choose this name. It sounds too sexy and not in a good way. Not very educated. Natalia on the other hand is lovely and doesn't have the sexy/uneducated/trashy image of Natasha. So I would say Natasha on its own NO. As a nickname for Natalia YES.

The first thing that popped into my head when I heard "Natasha" was Rocky and Bullwinkle. All she needs is some guy named Boris. Anyway, there was a girl I knew in middle school with that name. So I also think of a girl who is very shy and obsessed with the band AC/DC.

I like Natasha. I tend to prefer it as a nickname for Natalya. I guess my only real association with it is my wicked Russian step-grandma's sister (really!).

Oh man it would be an outstanding nickname for Natalya.
It's all right on its own, fun sounding, a swishy feather boa, but as a nickname for Natalya it is downright dangerousMy cousin's name is Natasha. This is the sibset:
Natasha Grace
Stella Josephine
George WilsonShe's maybe seven. She's very cute. She is my first impression.

Natasha is a long time favorite of mine. I think it's a strong/tough and feminine name. My name is Anastasia; a Greek pet name of Anastasia is Natasa. I contemplated with the possibility of going by Natasha as a nickname for a long time.

It's nice enough. There's a girl, named Natasha in my son's class.

I have a very bad association with this name. It is the name of a girl with whom both my daughter and myself were friends. We did a lot for her, emotionally supported her when her premature baby died, and stood by her while others insulted her and disliked her. She called herself a Christian, but when push came to shove, and she saw an opportunity to get something she had wanted for a long time, she turned against my daughter, and hurt her. To this day I have never been able to forgive her, though she has attempted to apologize. So when I hear Natasha, I picture a short, loud, annoying, overly talkative, hypocritical b----h.Yeah, a perfect example of how an association can ruin a name.

Ugh. It suffices to say I know roughly how you feel about a person like that. Different specifics in the situation, but many parallels. :\I also know what you mean about associations ruining a name! I like the name Amber on its own, but it's hard for me to detatch myself from having known five different Ambers with very abrasive, offensive personalities (of a very similar nature, too). In fairness, I knew one Amber who was a very nice person, although not as well and not for as long. :)
