I love Leila, Leilani, and Lilah but I recently I came across this unusual unrelated name (it's in the name data on this site) in a gardening book (it's used for a class of orchid).
Google gives the first syllable either as LAY ot LIE, so there is no agreement among the orchid-growing community.
What do you think of this as a name for girls?
When you see it how, instinctively, do you pronounce it?
Is it usable or is the confusion over pronunciation not worth the effort?

I'm pronouncing it LAY-lee-ah. I immediately think of the character Leylia from Record of Lodoss War. Her name is also pronounced that way.

I would pr. it LAY-lee-ah. I think it's pretty. I also like Lelia and Lilia. I think the pr. wouldn't be a problem. Most people would say LAY-lee-ah, I guess.

I think Laelia is very pretty and a great alternative to Leila/Leilani/Lilah. I would pronounce it 'LAY-lee-ah'.

I am very partial to Laela and I think Laelia would be a cute nickname, but I think it's a tad excessive for a given name.
Instinctively, I pronounce it Layl-YAW. Then again, I pronounce Laela as Lay-LAH; if you've ever heard any Farsi, think of that with a Persian lilt and you will understand how I am pronouncing each name. The Arabic pronunciation is just a little bit too harsh for me.
