I think it's cute, but not too easy to wear. I know I wouldn't like it to be my name. Nobody can be that sunny all the time - and I reserve my right to be moody. Pollyanna makes me think of someone tediously cheerful. Polly is out of fashion, but with Molly and Millie making big comebacks, it might still be a safe choice. I also like the spelling Pollie.

Pollyanna sounds very "Southern American" to me. It's alright, but I certainly wouldn't use it. Polly I don't mind at all, but again, I wouldn't use it.

Makes me think of Hayley Mills. :-)

everyone above a certain age will automatically think of the movie

I read that book when I was little. I think the name is sickeningly sweet, but Polly is usable.

Pollyanna's no good. The name has become a word, meaning a silly, naive kind of person. The kind who sees a guy in their yard with binoculars and is sure the guy is just looking at the stars.Polly is okay, but kind of plain and dowdy.

I think Polly is adorable as a nn for Mary. I prefer Molly, but I would recommend using Polly since it's less common than Molly.I love Anna. Classic, simple, and lovely.I don't like the two names smashed together. Pollyanna is cheesy, silly, syrupy-sweet... bleh

Sounds very girly and sweet. I have a friend named Polly Ann who says people expect her to be gullible because of her name. She goes by Polly and it suits her - sweet.

I like Polly, but not Pollyanna. Pollyanna is too over-the-top.
