I love all the names on your list, except Francesca. I would like her, but she steps on the toes of my beloved Francisca too much.

Semiramide? I was just thinking about Semiramis (sp?) the other day and trying to decide if I like it or not. I assume Semiramide is the Italian form. Very intriguing!
And Benvenuta is wonderful! I've never heard of Ortenzia before, but I love this Italian form of the name. Thanks!

Yes, Semiramide(seh-mee-rah-MEE-deh) is the Italian form. I fell in love with it when I first heard of the Rossini opera by this name.
I find that very few people like the name Benvenuta. I have to admit it's a bit clunky. I also love the French form, Bienvenue, which is also the French word for welcome(Bienvenu is the masculine form).

Actually,I have cousins in the south of Italy who are baptised Angelina. This is their full name, not their nicknames and there is several generations of them, as they follow the tradition of naming after grandparents.
