[Opinions] Maira
I was in a jewellery yesterday were, if you buy something, they make you fill in a form to be in their mailing list and so forth. There was a woman in her 20s who had just finished filling hers and I saw her name was Maira. At first I thought it was a typo and it was supposed to be Maria or Mara, but she had also signed Maira as well as printing Maira in the first name space. I assume it's pronounced MA-ee-ra(she was definitely Italian btw).
WDYT? I don't like it, I guess it's meant to be some kr8tiv form of Mara or Moira, but I think people will mispronounce and mispell it all the time.

Maera or Maira appears a few times in Greek mythology.

I would be more likely to pronounce it MY-ra. It could be an alternate spelling of Myra. Also reminds me of Maida and Maila.
I think it's pretty.

Woops, I misspelled the pronounciation, it would indeed be MA-ee-ra with the stress on the first A (corrected it now).
Now that I think about it, There's actually a chance that her parents wanted the name to be Myra pronounced the English way, rather than Mee-ra, which is how Italians would pronounce it. A bit like some girls who're named Daiana so that it's pronounced the English way, rather than Dee-ana, which is the regular Italian pronounciation of Diana.
