[Opinions] Briana
This is one of my guilty pleasure names. I pronounce it bree-AH-na. It was used in a poem called "The Fairie Queene" (published 1590-1596). While Brianna is really trendy Briana always seemed a very classic and beautiful name to me. I really dislike it pronounced bree-AN-ah or brie-AN-ah, though I only like bree-AH-na.1. What do you think of Briana ?
2. How do you pronounce Briana ?3. There are many different spellings of the name. Which one is your favorite ? Briana, Brianna, Breana, Breanna (other ?)
4. How do you pronounce them ? Do you pronounce them the same or do you say brie-AN-ah (Brianna) but bree-AN-ah (Breanna), bree-AH-na (Breana) etc ?5. Do you like Brianne ? How do you pronounce it ?
6. What do you think of Breann, Breanne, Breane, Briane, Bryann etc (favorite spelling, pronunciation).7. Do you see all versions as trendy or are some classic to you ?
8. Do you think it's still too common ? Do you know many ? Will it always be misspelled or mispronounced ? Is there any pronunciation/spelling that is popular where you live ? Do you think it will remain popular for long ? be dated ?THANKS

1. What do you think of Briana ?
>It's pretty, but it's also fluffy, trendy, empty and cutesy.2. How do you pronounce Briana ?
>bree-AH-nah3. There are many different spellings of the name. Which one is your favorite ? Briana, Brianna, Breana, Breanna (other ?)
>Brianna. It's the most traditional.4. How do you pronounce them ? Do you pronounce them the same or do you say brie-AN-ah (Brianna) but bree-AN-ah (Breanna), bree-AH-na (Breana) etc ?
>I say Brianna and Breanna as bree-ANN-ah and Briana and Briana as bree-AH-nah.5. Do you like Brianne ? How do you pronounce it ?
>I really dislike it and say it bree-ANNE.6. What do you think of Breann, Breanne, Breane, Briane, Bryann etc (favorite spelling, pronunciation).
>Brianne, said bree-ANN.7. Do you see all versions as trendy or are some classic to you ?
>They're all trendy-dated.8. Do you think it's still too common ? Do you know many ? Will it always be misspelled or mispronounced ? Is there any pronunciation/spelling that is popular where you live ? Do you think it will remain popular for long ? be dated ?
>I already think it's dated, and there are soooo many spellings and pronunciations that it's sure to be mispronounced and misspelled at some point.

1. I like Briana just fine. It has a fine sound and looks nice written down. Personally, I don't understand why many on name forums despise this name. Yes, it is trendy, however, it's a legit form of a masculine name as are Alexandra, Charlotte, Danielle, Nicole, etc.2. bree-AH-na3. Briana then Brianna4. bree-ANN-a unless corrected -- have heard both for different spellings5. Brianne is okay; I prefer Briana or Brianna.6. I really dislike any of them spelled with Bree or Brea. After all, Brian isn't spelled with an e or ea and this name is the feminine form of that (just a pet peeve of mine).7. I do view Briana as more classic and original.8. It's still pretty common although I haven't known but a handful in my life. There's only two pronunciations and the most common spelling where I live (VA) is Brianna so it doesn't seem that problematic to me. Brianna / Briana / Breanna will fade one day. In fact, I believe it already has somewhat. Will it appear dated one day? I think it already seems dated to me.

I think it's foolish to say Brianna is trendy and Briana isn't. They're technically the same name.I prefer the Brianna spelling over Briana. Briana just lookes like Brian with an extra a tacked on the end. Brianna looks better.I like Brianna more than Breanna. My cousin had a girl and called her Breeanna. Thats too many double letters for me.
I also met a Brieanna. It seemed contrived.I think it's a pretty name. I pronounce it Bree-AN-ah. Bree-AH-nah is pretty also.I think its more trendy than classic.

1. Dislike.
2. 'bree-AN-ah' for two 'N's, 'bree-AH-nah' for one 'N'.
3. I dislike them all equally.
4. All the same.
5. No. 'bree-ANN'.
6. Dislike. I would spell it Breanne.
7. All versions are trendy to me, but anything with a 'y' is ten times more trendy.
8. I don't know any. I don't think it's popular in the UK.

1) I think it's very trendy. I also think of French cheese. Any child with a food-affiliated name is just not good.2) "bree-AHH-nuh"3) There are many versions of the name, which is why I dislike it. It has been corrupted in the name of making it "original". I guess I like Brianna the best.4) I pronounce the "ana"s like "AH-uh" and the "anna"s like "ANN-uh".5) No, I don't like it. And I pronounce it "bree-anne".6) I think the various spellings have been corrupted, just like Brianna.7) Yes, I see all of them as trendy.8) They will always be misspelled and mispronounced, because there are so many versions. That is what people get for wanting to be "kre8tyf". The names will not remain popular for long, because trends do not last for long. For example, Brianna was #22 in the US this past year, but never appeared in the top names before the 70s. Maybe in thirty years it will be usable again!YOU'RE WELCOME

1. It looks nicer than Brianna.
2. I'd pronounce it bree-AN-ah, but it makes me want to pronounce it BRIE-an-ah, which is the only pronunciation I like. Trouble is, I'm not sure if it's ever pronounced that way. :)3. Briana
4. bree-AN-ah for all of them. I'd be more likely to pronounce Breanna bree-AH-na though. However, I really dislike that pronunciation.5. No. bree-ANN
6. I dislike all of those. Breann and Breane I'd pronounce BREEN. Breanne I'd pronounce bree-ANN. Briane and Bryann I'd pronounce brie-ANN.7. I suppose Briana/Brianna is classic, but the rest are rather trendy.
8. It's fairly common, I think. It seemed like it was popular in the late nineties or so. I don't know any myself, but I don't really know any kids outside of my family. I think Brianna would rarely be misspelled, but it would be mispronounced if you pronounce it bree-AH-na. I've rarely heard that pronunciation. It's always said bree-AN-ah. I think it will remain one of those middle-of-the-road names for awhile. Not too popular, but they're around.
