[Opinions] Jephthah
What do you think of Jephthah? I like it, but I find the full name kind of awkward to pronounce. And then I think that you could use Jeph as a nickname, but then most people would assume it's Jeff, short for Jeffrey, which is so much more boring and commonplace. So for these reasons, I don't think I'd ever actually use it, but I still think it's a cool name. What do you think of Jephthah?

Ugly, old-fashioned, pretentious, and an obvious sign that the parents are fundamentalists.
Well, I like Jephthah, and I love the name my daughter has picked out for her baby if it's a boy, Abraham, another Old Testament name, and I'm far from a fundamentalist. In fact, I'm an atheist, but that doesn't stop me from liking Biblical names. Not arguing with your opinion, just saying.
It's not for me. But it would be ok with the nn Jeph.
I think it's hard to say.
II agree it's kind of cool as such, but hard to pronounce and spell. Also, I can only imagine it on a Pilgrim-type guy.
I tried to say it just now and felt like I was spitting all over my monitor. Maybe that th is pronounced with a hard t, but...
Ixnay.
You're right about Jeph: most wold assume it's just Jeffrey trying to be "unique." Kind of like this guy I knew of, born Craig. Came out as gay, adopted a whole new look and changed his name to Qraig, or maybe it was Qrayg.
