[Opinions] Glory
WDYT the name Glory? For a girl. I just wondered if you all thought it would stand on it's own. I knew a girl in college named Mercy...which I thought was cool...They are kind of a different spin on Faith, Hope, Charity...virtue type names I guess.Thoughts?

I like it. I like Gloria too, but Glory works by itself.

I really like Mercy. I'm not really a fan of virtue names, but I do like Mercy.
Glory is a powerful name, it seems like an awful lot to live up to.

It sounds usable at first, but if you repeat it, it just sounds weird. I prefer Gloria.

Pathetic. I love Gloria, but not Glory.

Glory isn't so much a virtue as a pleasing abstract concept. However, I definitely like it a lot. I think it's beautiful and really nice.

I don't like it. Too much teasing potential, such as "glory box and morning glory." I don't like Gloria either, very bad association. Mercy, is much more prettier.

I've liked Glory as a first name ever since I read a book with a heroine by that name. I think it's very pretty. I like Mercy as well.

Glory is another name for Heaven. "She's gone to Glory." It's not a bad reference. It's just odd for a fn, at least for me. Gloria / Gloriana are more familiat to me as names. I do love Mercy as a fn / mn, though. Love, love, love it. :-)

I think it's cute as a middle name myself.
