Have you ever heard of this name? I first saw it as the name of silent film actress Lupita Tovar (amazingly, she is still alive as of this writing. She's 97.) I don't know whether it's her legal name or short for Guadalupe. Regardless, I think it's a pretty name. Do you?
Update: I found out at the below link that Lupita Tovar's real name is indeed Guadalupe.

I used to work with a woman from Mexico and her name was Guadalupe, nn Lupita.
And now I work with a woman who has a dog named Lupita (sometimes called Lupe). :b
