Okay, so my friend's sister just had a baby and they've decided to spell the child's name Xjavier. Anyone think this is weird? I've been told that they're pronouncing it Xavier, but I think it's really odd that they're essentially combining two names. IMO both Javier and Xavier are gorgeous names in their own right, and I'm a bit miffed that they're ruining them! (slightly harsh, but I'm really quite annoyed).

That's poxy. I think Javier and Xavier are wonderful. But the amalgamation of the two is ridiculous. Really, why do people do this? It doesn't even look good! It looks like they thought "Ummm is it spelled with an X or J? Oh f*** it, I'll put both!"

I have the feeling that people are going to constantly try to say both the x and j when they read the name. If they didn't know which spelling to use, they should have just pulled one out of a hat.
