I know an Uncle Homer, so I always think of him when I hear it. His middle is Clair. I don't know if he got teased or not.
While it's not my favorite name, I do think it sounds classy, especially with Atticus. I like Homer Atticus Richard Asher as well, although I would probably drop Richard.
I'm not fond of the nn Homie, I really don't think Homer needs to be shortened.
I would probably think that someone named Homer would have blonde hair and be tall, I also think it sounds like someone who would be in law or medical school.
I don't think it'll get very popular.
No, I don't think of Homer Simpson. I have seen the show enough, but it never stuck in my head that I would think of him upon hearing the name.
Someone might get teased, but really everyone does. Even really popular names get teased. I wouldn't worry about it.
