[Opinions] True
WDYTO True for a girl? I kind of like it. Do you think it'll be the next Rose or Blue (middle name) now that so many celebrities used it? Do you prefer Tru or Truth? I like Octavia True, Estella True, True Emmeline and True Matilda but for some reason they all sound silly. Especially with True as the first name. True Emmeline reminds me of some names posted in BAs, Model Caroline and Banning Kathleen :P Opinions?

Either Truth or True would be a good mn, but I don't care for them as fns. Truth might work, but True sounds tacky. As mns they have an old, interesting Puritan feel, sort of like Patience, Thankful, Verity, etc. Octavia True is good- I also like Helena True, Liora Truth, Adelina Truth, Rosalie True.
I really like True, and Tru even better, but it is oddly silly in the fn position, as you noted. It's almost as though it's a description and not a name. Maybe you could use Tru as a nn for Truth. Truth Emmeline and Truth Matilda are better than True Emmeline and True Matilda any day.
I wouldn't worry about True's future popularity. Few people use it now and that's all I would care about.

Have you ever seen that show Tru Calling? In the TV world the name seems cool, but in real world, Tru or True seem to have practical limitations, at least as first name. I find searching for a complementary middle name especially difficult. As a middle name it seems kind of funky and a very creative alternative to all of those other 1 syllable filler names like Lynne, Rose, Jane, etc. Of course that makes it susceptible to becoming a new filler like Pearl. Only time will tell.
I much prefer Tru over Truth or True because Tru seems less like a word and more name-like. I have to agree Octavia True, True Emmeline, and True Matilda do sound silly. Estella True might work.
But I feel with an unusual name like True, in order for it to work, it must be paired with traditional classic names to provide some balance, and make the name seem effortless. And I really prefer Tru over True.
For example:
Elizabeth Tru - sort of like Elizabeth Shue, but that similarity doesn't bother me, only validates that the combo works in my mind.
Caroline Tru
Bethany Tru
Cynthia Tru
Deborah Tru
Rosemary Tru
Allison Tru
Gabrielle Tru

I like it, but only as a nickname and only spelled Tru.
I can handle it as a middle name, too, I suppose -- but again, only spelled Tru.
I just don't find it at all appealing as a first name.

Agree.
I guess it might be okay as a middle name, but I would never use it as a first name.
I like it
