What do you think of name Bohumila? What is the origin?

Bohumila is very unsually name. Origin is Slavic. It means "favoured by God" (bohu milá) from the Slavic elements bůh "god" and mil "favour".

I don't know the origin - try asking on the Facts board and give info about the bearers you've encountered.
I am not sure how to pronounce it, but it looks either foreign, archaic, or unusual to me (I'm American born). It reminds me a little of Bohemia, but not enough to be really distracting. Nothing wrong with it, really, except that I'd have to ask how to say it.
