[Opinions] Charmian
I'm really loving Charmian (KAR-mee-an) again recently.
WDYT?I think it fits well with my other favourites.

I like it. It's different and you don't really see it that much. I also like the meaning, "delight."

*disappointed*Kar-mee-an? I must say that I'm utterly disappointed. I thought it was pronounced like the word charm. I've been liking odd middle names for boys recently and when I saw your post I thought that Charmian was a lovely name that certainly fit in to that category. Hm...
Still, your pronunciation (the correct pronunciation I assume) isn't bad. It's a nice name, and I like the look of it. But it would have been soooo handsome if it was Char-mee-an. *sighs*

The correct pronounciation is CHAHR-mee-ən, SHAHR-mee-ən. See BTN's pronunciation, (Charmian) Overall I like it. It is the name of actress Charmian Carr who played Liesl in the Sound of Music.

Actually, 'KAR-mee-an' is technically more correct. It's Greek, so 'CH' is pronounced like a 'K', as in Charis.

At first my dyslexic mind read "Chairman", lol. I dislike it, but more for the way it looks than the way it sounds. I also think "Charmin" (as in toilet paper) when I see it. Thus it's unfortunately unappealing to me on a visual level.

All I can think when I see Charmian is Charmin! Not a good association.

I like it better with the e at the end, but it's nice... and not overused... I think I've known about 2 in my lifetime... well... 2 that I can think of right now anyway and they were both pretty decent people... (the one who spelled it with an s was hilarious)
