[Opinions] Peleg?
While researching my family tree I found many odd names but the one I had absolutely never heard before was owned by Peleg Matteson. At first I said pee-leg? Yuck! And I couldn't find it anywhere in any name book or database to find out what it meant or where it came from. Finally the idea to try a Bible concordance led to the right place. I should have thought of that first because this particular branch of the family were Quakers and used many names from the Old Testament. So it is pronounced pel-eg and means 'division'. In the New Testament it is spelled Phalec (fal-ek). And I've come to really like it and consider using it as a middle name, not a first, a middle. :)What do you think of Peleg / Phalec and these combos?
Simon Peleg
Matteson Peleg
Aidan Peleg
Ciaran Peleg
Colin Peleg
Michael PelegAll comments would be gladly welcome! Thanks in advance! :)

I thought of PelagiaPelagia is a Greek girl's name (it means "sea"). I've never seen Peleg before.I like Simon Peleg best."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

It sounds a bit familiar to me, actually, but I'm not sure why. It could work as a mn, but only because it has special significance. :b Actually, the first thing I thought of when I saw it was, 'Peg Leg? Yuck.' LOL.

It sounds best with Simon, I think. It's alright, but you might consider how a child would feel about having it as a middle name.~*|Bethany|*~
