At the moment, this is one of the only boys names circulating through my mind. My bf loves it, as do I, so it's a definite possibility. What are your thoughts on it? My bf likes it for its association with Ezra Pound and I also like it because of the children's author/illustrator, Ezra Jack Keats.

I'm at a loss for middle names, though. I tend to find great fn's that I like but fail in the mn department. Any suggestions that come to mind?

Another thing I forgot to mention is that if we actually use the name, I'd probably rid the baby of a hyphenated last name since I'm not sure how much I like the sound of Ezra Alvarez. I'm thinking too many of the same letters.

Love the name Ezra. It seems to handsome for a boy and not too common or too out there either, which is great. What about these combos:

May I just say that I think Ezra Alvarez is so, so, so, so cool. I love the repeated letters. And if you want to drop the hyphenated last name, Ezra Alvarez is such a cool combo. I cannot stress this enough.

I dig it well enough. Be aware that it's super hip.

I never thought of just using Alvarez as a mn. Good thought!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the name Ezra for a boy! I think it's a strong, fine name! Ezra Henry and Ezra Grant would be my suggestions!

I really like Ezra Malachi but the fact that both names are so heavily associated with the Bible, puts me off.

It's a fine name, and so many other, less unfamiliar, Biblical names might go well with it, such as

I expect you know that there is a name similar to Ezra - with a different last letter. In the Bible Ezri was an overseer during King David's reign (1 Chronicles, 27:26).
The name means "my helper".

I absolutely adore Ezra. For me, it strikes the perfect balance between unusual, classic, familiar, and modern. Personally, I love it because of the Old Testament usage.
