It's just a no from me.
I don't find ( I can't find it ) effeminate although I understand where that comes from. Bruce is comical to me because it is so blatantly manly man OTT.

It's one of those names I've just always really disliked. It sounds so gumpy and doofy, despite being Batman's name.

It's very harsh sounding, as well as outdated.
And amongst my gay friends, it's known as a very "gay" name (I personally know at least 3 gay men named Bruce, and my sister knows a few more...I may have only met 1-2 straight Bruces in my life, LOL).

I adore it. I think it's probably my second favorite guy's name right now. It's really difficult to find combos or though, I've only found one that I like and I'm not a fan of the middle name any more.
