I love him. Hes my #1 name for a boy. It was my Great Granddad's name. I'd use Coz occasionally but it's a simple two syllable name, I doubt I'd use it often. I have two cousins named Cosmo too, but haven't seen them since we were all under 12. We're much older now. I picture a shaggy, dark haired boy (no specific eye color) with glasses (Probably because the three I've known did). I've got Cosmo Henry on my list and prefer him with a classic in the middle: Cosmo Edward, Cosmo Thomas, Cosmo William, Cosmo George (I really dig Cosmo George!), Cosmo Frederick, Cosmo Phillip, Cosmo Stephen. Something like that.

I think of it as a pet's name when I hear Cosmo since someone in my family has a dog named Cosmo. I also think of the magazine. In other words, it's difficult to imagine it as a person's name. It's too bad because I like astronomy and it has a neat sound.Cos or Mo are possible NN's for Cosmo, but I don't care for Mo at all. Cos is okay though. How about Cosmas as a full name? I prefer Cosmas for a person.

I like it. I think it's really cool, but you have to have the right personality to bear it properly I think. I can't imagine it on a straight-laced jock. More of a quirky science geek, or drummer. My dad works with a man named Cosmo. He's an engineer and basketball player. However he gave his kids really ordinary names (Anne and John), which might mean that he didn't enjoy being a "Cosmo" in the US. Also my friend Mabel's dad wanted her to be Cosmo if she was a boy. It would have fit her. For nns I can only think of Coz and Mo. Cosmo Julian, Cosmo Avery and Cosmo Darcy come to mind.

I knowtwo cats called Cosmo, sorry. My other reference point is Kramer from Seinfeld. Not very good associations for me! Sorry.

Cosmo is too much for a real person and it doesn't even sound that nice to me. I also think of Kramer from the show Seinfeld whose real name was Cosmo.
