I ADORE Kira. So much. Ooh yes.
1. EXCELLENT. Beautiful, usable, simple, classy, somewhat unique at the moment
2. might get trendy, but I'd predict the Keira spelling after Ms. Knightley. I think it sounds trendier than it is.
3. Kira probably won't be mispronounced. I agree, Kyra has the "eye" sound in the first syllable, but Kira is KEE-ra.
4. Kira, Keira, Kiera
5. I know a Kira. She's 18 or 19, tall, brunette, violinist. I don't know her middle name, but her last name could work as a MN (Lee).
6. Yes, and yes. It's short and sweet, which is what a lot of parents look for (despite all evidence to the contrary).
BTW, Ciara is usually see-AIR-uh. I've met at least two of these and one Ceara. I've never heard it pronounced KEE-rah.
