[Opinions] Re: Alicia

I like Alicia pronounced a-LEE-see-uh much more than a-LEE-sha or a-LI-sha. I know an a-LEE-see-ah. It is a valid pronunciation, yes you can get away with it.
I still much prefer Alice. Simple and clean. Classic. Alicia just feels like it's trying too hard. Don't get me wrong, I like it well enough, I think its pretty. I'd just never use it myself and would rather meet an Alice.
Alyssa and Alissa and Allyisa and Allissa and on and on is one of the most popular names at my kids' school. It's pretty, but enough already! I do get why it's more popular though. Parents today grew up watching Alyssa Malano (spelling? sorry!) on Who's the Boss? and the name sunk in. The pronunciation is also much more straight forward than Alicia.
No, I do not think Adelaida and Alicia should be in the same sibset. Alicia traces back to Adelaide, and two variants of the same name in one sibset would bother me, though I might be the only one.
